He’s a nice guy. Somewhere deep down you may hope that the brooding bad boy is going to suddenly change — perhaps order you a refill when you head to the bathroom instead of talking up the bartender. But really, he’s just looking out for himself. A nice guy is just that: He cares about your feelings, is interested in spending time with you, and is courteous. All traits, that if this goes well, he’ll pass onto his son.

Being reliable isn’t just something he saves for his bros. When he says he’ll meet you at 7 p.m. he’s there on time. And, after your third date when you left your keys in the cab, he came over to sit with you outside your apartment until the locksmith came.

He doesn’t want to play games. He’s not looking to just get laid, he’s in this to find someone to date seriously. So, when you text him “I’m so tired today,” he responds within minutes (not a day later) with a “Me too. Dinner later?”

There’s never a shortage of something new to talk about. It’s only been four dates, but you already can’t wait to tell him about your day and listen to him recount his.

The 10-Step Korean Skincare Routine

While the main skincare regimen of the West contains the steps of Cleansing, Toning, Moisturizing and Exfoliating, the Koreans of the East follow ten steps. With that much procedures, it’s no surprise therefore why their skin is as flawless as we see it.

Skincare in Korea is a somewhat exhaustive multi-step process, a fact which seems to have sparked a ton of intrigue in the beauty world as of late. To outsiders looking in, the “million-step” Korean skincare regimen sounds a bit extreme, but it all boils down to cleansing, exfoliating, treating, intensely moisturizing and applying plenty of SPF during the day. I guess the real differentiating factor between how Koreans take care of their skin and more Western routines is that in Korea, you’re programmed to start early— well before your first training bra—while our more American version of skincare tends to be a sudden mad dash to Nordstrom to buy $100 eye cream, hoping it will reverse some of the teenage UV damage when we hit the age of 30. Thorough skincare is really just a part of Korean culture—it’s completely ingrained in your life since early childhood, when you’re dragged along to the communal bathhouses by your mother to have your dead skin sloughed off with bright green viscose cloths.

When I first got to Korea, I was motivated to start up with a Korean-style routine because my coworkers thought I was so barbaric for my complete lack of one. They would say (rather bluntly) in passing, “I could see your dark circles from way over there,” or, “What is growing out of your skin?” or my favorite, “ P lease brush your hair.” So they obviously didn’t get the whole wavy California beach hair look, but their well-intentioned rudeness did get me thinking about my skin. And I’ll admit, I was (still am) shallow enough to be influenced by the flawless-faced actresses in Korean dramas—and I watch them all in HD! How Jun Ji-hyun has better skin in My Love From Another Star than when she starred in My Sassy Girl 13 years ago is just beyond my comprehension.

To those who believe they aren’t high maintenance enough for that bright, dewy skin: I didn’t either. But, like our American moms always said while shoving (their version of) Korean stir-fry into our mouths: just try, you might like it!

Step 1: The Eye Makeup Removal

Remove your eye makeup gently with good makeup remover or Innisfree Olive Real Cleansing Tissues, because expecting a normal cleanser to do a detailed job is what leaves you with week-old mascara on your lashes. And the last thing you want to do is tug the skin around your eyes, because, like most things in life, it will hold up better if you treat it gingerly. Also, use it to remove any long-wear lipstick.

Step 2: The Cleanse

Rule of thumb is, if you’re going to spend 30 minutes putting on your face, you should spend the same amount of time are take the same amount of care when cleaning it off. Use an oil cleanser like The Face Shop Rice Water Cleansing Oil and use gentle, circular motions with your fingers to massage and clean off that foundation and BB cream. Koreans (and Into The Gloss) believe that massaging the face increases circulation, which equals brighter skin.

Step 3: The Exfoliator

Exfoliating with a natural scrub like the Skin Food Black Sugar Wash Off Mask really brings your skin back to its glory days when it was as soft as a baby’s butt. Twice a month is plenty, just concentrate on the t-zone or where blackheads frequent. When it comes to facial exfoliation, Korean women often believe less is more.

Bedroom Set Buying Guide

The bedroom is basically used everyday and it serves as place for relaxation, for reading and for other functions. Bedroom sets come in various styles and designs. If you are thinking of buying a new one, then do some thinking first.

Bedroom sets are a sensible and simple way to purchase all of your bedroom furniture at once. There’s often a peace of mind in knowing that all of your furniture matches, which can make the decorating process easier. Here are the three types of bedroom sets:

1. Basic bedroom sets generally include three pieces: a bed with a headboard, a nightstand, and a dresser.
2. Expanded bedroom sets include the basic pieces as well as one or more of the following: a second nightstand, a chest of drawers, a bench, an armoire, mirrors, lamps, and perhaps even bedding.
3. Customizable bedroom sets allow you more freedom to select only the pieces you truly need. Most of the time, customizable sets have only the bed as the must-have item while the other furniture pieces are optional.

While shopping for your ideal bedroom set, you’ll want to consider your bed size, measure your bedroom, and determine the style of furniture that suits your decor and home best.

Bedroom Size and Layout

The size of your bedroom will dictate the amount of furniture you can purchase. A smaller bedroom will feel cramped with too many …

How to Prevent Sewer Backup

A sewer back up is not just awful to look at, but it also poses big threat to the surroundings and your property or home. The cool thing is you can prevent the backup from happening. To avoid it from happening you should do the following:

Large Items

A few lifestyle tips will also help in the prevention of sewer issues. The very first is to be wise as to what you’re putting down your drains. Don’t flush or drain items such as diapers, grease, or paper products because these only contribute to clog problems. Be certain to remember the area of your sewer lines when planting new trees or putting in any landscaping. Plant roots are a normal problem of pipe breaks that can be easily prevented by thinking through installations and plantings completely.

Cooking Oil

One more frequent obstruction for sewer backups are grease, fats and oils that harden and form very persistent clogs that close off the sewer line. It’s recommended for people not to ever rinse cooking grease on the sink’s drain to prevent sewer backups. Instead oils, grease and fats may be scrubbed into a tin can and thrown to the garbage rather than down the sink.

Shrubs and Trees

This can be something that can be tough to handle, simply because roots seem to have a mind of their own. They might in fact grow into the pipes, which may cause holes in them and then create obstructions. It can possibly allow the sewage to go into the ground. They can even crush the pipes in some instances. Even if you don’t have trees on your lawn, neighboring tree roots may actually creep beneath the ground and damage the pipes. The ultimate way to avoid having to make such a costly repair is to employ a drain cleaners to service your sewer system.

Backup Device

There are a variety of sewer backflow devices that one could install in the home’s sewer system in order to keep the sewage from backing up into your house once the main sewer blockage takes place. You ought to set up the device in a way it goes on the residential sewer line that connects with your area’s district sewer line. For great results you should make certain that system is set up by a professional.

Other Preventive Measures

There are many other ways in which you may prevent sewer backup from happening. A great way is placing wooden or rubber plugs on your drains before a heavy rainstorm. If you do not wish to keep on putting in the plugs before every heavy rains, it’s a wise decision that you set up permanent plugs. Again, you ought to make sure that the plugs are professionally installed.
