1. The Golden Rule
Do: Make sure you always (and we mean always) remove your makeup before hitting the sheets. The skin needs to breathe overnight. And makeup prevents that, as leaving it on overnight clogs the pores which may cause blemishes and/or blackheads. Don’t possess a makeup remover? Just put some olive oil on a cotton pad and gently massage the oil onto your face to get rid of the makeup and dirt.
Don’t: Forget that exfoliation is indispensable. At least once or twice a week, exfoliate your skin to remove the layers of dead skin, sure to leave you with a more healthy glow and brighter skin. You can also apply a paste of walnut in powder form with yogurt to exfoliate your skin, as the antioxidants present in walnuts help remove dirt and promote radiant skin.

2. Sun and Skin
Do: Apply sunscreen with SPF of at least 15 that blocks both UVA and UVB rays. Since a lifetime of sun exposure can cause wrinkles, age spots and other skin problems, you have to protect your skin from the sun. Make sure the label reads ‘noncomedogenic’ or ‘nonacnegenic’ so that the product does not tend to block pores.
Don’t: Skip the sunscreen, whether it’s cloudy or cold outside (no excuses). If you’re heading to a beach or around reflective surfaces like snow or ice, lather your skin up with some more sunscreen with SPF of at least 30.

Fighting Suicidal Thoughts

Chances are that if you’ve been depressed for awhile, or you’re experiencing ongoing hopelessness, some aspect of yourself has begun to drop not so subtle hints about checking out of life. However, is suicide an option?

Wikicommons

Suicide was defined by the sociologist Emile Durkheim as applying to ‘all cases of death resulting directly or indirectly from a positive or negative act of the victim himself, which he knows will produce this result’.

A person’s risk of committing suicide can be increased by a number of demographic and social risk factors. Demographic risk factors for suicide include being male; being relatively young; and being single, widowed, or separated or divorced. Social risk factors for suicide include being unemployed, insecurely employed, or retired; having a poor level of social support as is often the case for the elderly, prisoners, immigrants, refugees, and the bereaved; and having been through a recent life crisis such as losing a close friend or relative or being the victim of physical or sexual abuse.

As well as demographic and social risk factors, a person’s risk of committing suicide can also be increased by a number of clinical risk factors. The most important predictor of suicide is a previous act of deliberate self-harm, and a person’s risk of completing suicide in the year following an act of deliberate self-harm is approximately 100 times greater than that of the average person. Conversely, up to half of all people who complete suicide have a history of deliberate self-harm. Suicidal behavior tends to cluster in families, so a family history of deliberate self-harm also increases a person’s risk of suicide. This is perhaps because suicide is a learned behaviour or, more likely, because family members share a generic predisposition to psychiatric disorders that are associated with a higher risk of suicide. People with a psychiatric disorder who are resistant to their prescribed medicationor non-compliant with it are also at a higher risk of suicide, as are people experiencing certain specific symptoms such as delusions of persecution, delusions of control, delusions of jealousy, delusions of guilt, commanding second person auditory hallucinations (for example, a voice saying ‘Take that knife and kill yourself’), and passivity which is the feeling that one’s thoughts, feelings, and actions are under the control of an external agency. Physical illness can also increase the risk of suicide, and this is particularly the case for physical illnesses that are terminal, that involve long-term pain or disability, or that affect the brain. Examples of such physical illnesses include cancer, early-onset diabetes, stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and AIDS.

If you are assailed by suicidal thoughts, the first thing to remember is that many people who have attempted suicide and survived ultimately feel relieved that they did not end their lives. At the time of attempting suicide they experienced intense feelings of despair and hopelessness because it seemed to them that they had lost control over their lives and that things could never get better. The only thing that they still had some control over was whether they lived or died, and committing suicide seemed like the only option left. This is never true.

Some of the thoughts that may accompany suicidal thoughts include:
• I want to escape my suffering.
• I have no other options.

How To Decorate A Guest Room

If you have an extra room in your home, then turning it into a guest bedroom may be a great way to help make your guests feel right at home. Although guest bedrooms can be kept simple, you can still put some of your style into the room and still make it attractive to any guests that may stay at your house. Should you be not sure on what to do about decorating your guest bedroom, here are some basic tips for you to adhere to.

• Comfortable Sleeping Area

Some people choose to put their old furniture and bed inside the guest bedroom. This is okay if the bed is still safe and stable. You might want to purchase a new mattress though, as this will be common courtesy to provide a comfortable sleeping area instead of your 20-year-old mattress. It’s easy to take your old bed and stain or paint it another color to suit the décor of the room. You can also find rather inexpensive and simple beds that would be great for guest bedrooms and will not break your budget.

When it comes to the bedding for the guest bedroom, don’t buy the cheapest set of sheets you can find. Rather, try to find something in the middle that’s comfortable but is not that much cost you money. A basic cotton sheet should suffice with a comforter or blanket. You can also add some style and color into the room with the bedding set without it being too obnoxious.

• Enough Storage Space

Storage is one thing that sometimes poses a problem for the guest room, especially if the room doubles for something else. Even if the room just isn’t used for another purpose, oftentimes people will use the closets and dressers to store their own clothes that may be out of season. If this is the case, you will have to make a few changes before your guests arrive. Be sure that the closet is arranged in order to give plenty of space for your guests’ clothes – and be sure to provide durable hangers as opposed to flimsy wire hangers.

• Neutral Design

It’s okay to add a pop of color here and there in a guest bedroom but you must mostly follow neutral colors. Sticking to neutral colors makes the room more appealing to guests and will make it more comfortable for them. Even though you have neutral colors in the room, you can still add some style with different décor items for example paintings, flowers, and pillows. You shouldn’t be frightened to have a stylish guest bedroom, but just keep it on the neutral side so that the red walls in the middle of the night don’t frighten your guests.

Decorating a guest bedroom can be a fun task but you need to remember the fact that even though the room is within your home, other people will be the ones using the room. Keep it on the simple side and add your stylish touches here and there.

How changing one tiny habit allowed me to build my wealth

Many people want to manifest more money and have a certain lifestyle. We want to  achieve the wealth and lifestyle that we really want but it takes a step at a time to reach it.

Making savings automatic can help you override the part of your brain that makes poor decisions.

In my teens and early 20s, social anxiety was wrecking my life.

I couldn’t go out and feel comfortable around people without drinking, so I drank.

Now, alcohol can lead to a lot of cool stuff, but for me it was a crutch and I needed help.

So one day I drove to Barnes and Noble (this was before Amazon was a thing) with a plan to casually stumble into the self-help section.

“Oh, what’s this section all about? Interesting …”

I scanned the shelves super fast, worried I’d bump into someone I knew and have to explain why I was looking through a book with some embarrassing title. I picked one out, and went to check out.

When I slid the book across the counter all my nervousness came to a head and I had a panic attack.

It turns out changing yourself is really, really hard. Did I read that one book and was cured? No, I read more books, went to therapists,

and attended a 12-step group. The process was like peeling an onion where I had to keep taking off layers until I got to the core, and only from there could I rebuild myself.

And what I learned was implementing new tiny habits into my life ultimately lead to the change I wanted. Here, let me show you one of them.

Google Calendar Mr Everyday Dollar ScreenshotMr. Everyday Dollar

I’d send myself this automated email every day at 8:00 a.m., so when I checked my inbox first thing in the morning, I’d see it. It reminded me to say “Hi” to everyone (at work, on the street, in the gym).

This is completely insane, right? You’d think so, but what I discovered was that by “going first” I began to build my social confidence. When this tiny habit became automatic, meaning I just did it without thinking, then I created another tiny habit, and so on.

You might find implementing one tiny habit gets you pretty far. But what if you made it a practice to do it throughout your life? One day you’ll look back and realize you’ve actually changed, even when you thought it was impossible.

Because when I look back at that kid having a panic attack because he’s buying a self-help book, it’s almost laughable. It’s like I’m looking at someone I don’t even know. (And I love buying self-help books now, here’s the top five I read last year).

Now, I’m not the only one who knows power of tiny habits. I was reading this Quora thread, and was fascinated that by implementing just a few tiny habits a day — drinking water, smiling during his commute, and meditating for 10 minutes — one guy completely changed his life. (I stole his “Never been better,” response to “How are you?”)

The one tiny habit that leads to wealth

Before I get to the one tiny habit that leads to wealth, I want to tell you about an economic term called hyperbolic discounting. In simple terms it
